Insertion in the site in a conceptual way : building on a way, not off. Work experience between public and private sphere : at what distance does the pedestrian feels the discomfort of entering private property? Having admired Dutch architect Anne Holtrop’s first completed project, Trail House (another temporary space), the exhibition’s curator Jaap Velserboer gave the architect creative freedom for his second built work. Anne Holtrop (b. 1977, Netherlands) lives and works in Amsterdam and graduated with distinction from the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture in 2005. For his work he received several grants from the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture and in 2008 he was awarded the Charlotte Köhler Prize for Architecture by the Prince Bernhard Cultural Foundation.

Formally, the scheme belongs to the same family as his Trail House, born out of a path in the terrain, and his Temporary Museum, inspired by the making of automatic unconscious drawings. In Holtrop’s work, landscape is ever present, but more as material process than as context.
